Today I converted my VMware ESX 4.1 machine to VMware ESXi 5.1 update 1. This is the system that is running my Virtual Alpha Server using Migration Specialties’s Avanti software. The good news is, it worked almost perfectly. When you reload your VM, make sure to remove and re-add the USB key.

I did pick up a little more speed with the ESXi 5.1, but nothing to write home with.

I plan to move my virtual AXP system back to Physical soon. I have some ideas with modern day SCSI to SATA converters that may make a killer SSD enabled AXP server.
