While I really do like the UniFi OS Server setup, sometimes, you just happen to outgrow it. So, here are the steps to convert from a UniFi OS Server system to a UniFi UCK G2 Plus
- On the UniFi OS Server system
- click on the gear for “Settings”.
- Under the “UniFi OS Server” section, there is a “Updates”. Click on the Updates and make note of the Application “Network” version.
- Under the main list, click on “System”.
- There is a section called “Site Management”, you will click on the “Export Site” button
- This will bring up the “Click the download link below to export your site” message. Click on the “Download the Site Export File” link.
- The download for a “network_site_<name of site>.unf” file will start.
- On the new UniFi UCK G2 Plus, you will add this to your UniFi system as normal. The only issue will be you will not do any restores at this time, just let the Cloud Key connect to your unifi cloud login and let the UCK grab all updates.
- You will need to make sure the UniFi Cloud key has downloaded a version of “Network” that the same or higher than what was listed in the top steps.
- Look under “UCK G2 Plus” for the “Updates”. There you will see the version of “Network” and can upgrade it if needed.
- To restore you “Network” Application,
- Look under “UCK G2 Plus”, select “Control Plane”
- click on the [Backups] selection at the top
- under “Controls”, there is a “Restore” link, select that.
- You will now drag that “network_site_<name of site>.unf” file. This will cause the Network Application to reboot with the applied settings.
- At this point, you should be working from the UCK G2 Plus Cloud Key
